Everywhere looks like a postcard; the scenery is just breath taking

“Hi Adrian, despite our best efforts we made up out of the Termini in Rome and all the way to Modena – picked up our Fiat and made out way to your beautiful house with only one minor detour easily corrected – Norm took your advice and just kept heading for the Pasa Redici!!! Worked a treat. Jill met us and Norm and I quickly made our way to Palagano for stores – well just the staples….. bread cheese ham wine…. Perfect! Yesterday we had a jarmi day – read books (thanks Barb!) and just chilled. Today, we have spent the whole day driving and walking around – what an amazing place – everywhere looks like a postcard The scenery is just breath taking – there is still snow on the top of the mountains – we made it to the top after we turned up the road at Costrignano and took the alternate route thru to Palagano – amazing!! Even found the huge illuminated cross at the very top of via Panoramica up near Minento – very interesting the main roads we have been on – can’t even think what the minor roads must be like!! But it’s really easy to get around and Norm is finding the driving really cruisy – not much traffic and good conditions – well signed very easy to get around We got caught out this afternoon in Palagano desperate for a coffee at 3 having to wait until 4 for something to open lol!! Gave up waiting for the butcher at 430 – such a different culture – can you imagine if we all decided that we wouldn’t harvest between 1 and 4pm ?? The weather is absolutely perfect the days are sunny and we can’t quite believe how lucky we are to be in this beautiful part of the world – you and Barbara have done such a wonderful job on the house it us so welcoming and beautiful we feel so relaxed and happy and can’t thank you enough Ciao.”

The views make it a photographers paradise

With a river running through the magnificent valley below Villa Sul Dragone, the views make it a photographers paradise. We stayed at the Villa in July, in the Italian sun. A glass of red never tasted as good as looking down the valley from the patio. The ambience of the Villa is quintessentially Italian, but with every modern facility you could want. Spotlessly clean there is a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds dressed in crisp white sheets, efficient showers with big soft towels. Take some food to go on with, as you are a bit far from Modena, but what a lovely get away. We will be back.

One of the most relaxing weeks ever

One of the most relaxing weeks ever. Lazy mornings with a late breakfast on the outdoor deck followed by a visit to one of the nearby villages to mingle with the locals, (and have some fun with the language barrier) shop in the markets and lunch in one of the many cafes that offer local food and wine at very reasonable prices. Evenings were generally spent on the deck watching the sun go down and the chance to spot wild deer in the fields .The Villa is extremely spacious and comfortable with all the amenities your require.

Would highly recommend Edwards House for a great stay away from the tourist strip.

Don’t think about it….just book in….Bella!

If you are looking to experience the “real Italy” then Edwards House is the place to stay. This delightful multi-bedroom character Villa is set in the valley of the Appenine Mountains in Northern Italy, in the most tranquil countryside near the village of Vitriola. We found the Villa ideal to stay in between trips to so many other parts of Italy and Europe….to the extent that it was like ‘coming home’ after our travels…recharge the batteries and off again. The local cuisine and produce are simply to die for…….

Don’t think about it….just book in….Bella!

I highly recommend an extended stay here

I stayed at Casa sur Dragone in the spectacular Italian countryside in October 2012. It was ideally situated and had many breath-taking views. The house itself was spacious and extremely comfortable and all my needs were catered for. I highly recommend an extended stay here as there are so many lovely walks to do, and the bakery in the nearby village is to die for.
