The Emilia Romagna is known for producing some of the best foods in Italy. You can buy freshly made pastas and a delicious selection of breads from the local bakeries. The local specialities include Balsamic Vinegar (from Modena), Parmesan Cheese, Parma ham & Lasagna. In Autumn wild Porcini mushrooms and blueberries can be found around the foothills of the mountains. The area has a vast array of stuperb restaurants and trattorias for you to visit.
Wine
Emilia's premier wine is Lambrusco made from grapes grown in the flatlands south of the Po. The region's wines come predominantly from the Sangiovese, Trebbiano and Albana grape.

A great way to get around is to hire a car and explore. Casa Sul Dragone villa is only three hours' drive from Venice; around 1.5 hours' drive from Bologna, about 2.5 hours' drive from Cinque Terre and only 1 hour from Modena.
